The biggest "supermoon" of the year will appear on the map of Ningbo on 14th

2022-07-13

The moon's orbit around the Earth is not perfect because of the multiple gravitational forces of the Earth, the sun and other planets, giving us the opportunity to observe the moon from different distances, according to Professor Wang Chengru of Ningbo University, president of the City's Astronomy Enthusiasts' Association.  And the moon's perigee and apogee (its closest and farthest point from Earth) change from month to month.  Since there are near and far, the near is bigger and the far is smaller. The closer it is, the bigger it always looks.

Supermoons are not originally astronomical in origin, but are more commonly found in astrology.  On May 7, 2012, The website Astronomy Picture of the Day published "A Supermoon in Paris," the first known official use of the concept in Astronomy.  On June 12, 2013, astronomer David Dickinson published a signed article on the website Universe Today titled "What is a Super Moon?  , gave the first definitive astronomical definition of a "supermoon," a full moon that occurs within 24 hours of its perigee.

The concept of a supermoon was coined, but was rarely used for a long time, until it was "introduced" into astronomy in recent years.  At the end of 2016, there were three supermoons in a row, which really began to gain wide public attention as the Internet and personal digital communication began to spread.
