How to choose the material of garden furniture?

The material selection of patio furniture needs to focus on dealing with outdoor environmental tests such as sun exposure, rain, temperature difference, etc., taking into account durability, comfort and aesthetics. Different materials have different adaptation scenarios.

Solid wood materials need to choose natural and rot-resistant wood. Teak contains natural oils and is highly waterproof. It will form a unique patina with use. It is suitable for making tables and chairs, but it needs to be waxed and maintained once a year to maintain its performance. Acacia wood has high hardness and strong insect resistance. It is often used to make benches or flower stands. The service life can reach more than ten years, but it is heavy and needs special attention when moving.

The key to metal materials is rust resistance. Aluminum alloy is light in texture. After surface anodizing treatment, its weather resistance is greatly improved. It is suitable for making parasol stands or small coffee tables, and will not rust due to moisture. Cast aluminum furniture has a stable structure and can be designed with complex shapes. After being matched with anti-rust coating, it can be used for a long time in rainy areas, but the surface temperature is high after exposure in summer, so it needs to be used with cushions.

Rattan materials are divided into natural and synthetic types. Natural rattan has good flexibility and a warm texture, but it is easy to mold if exposed to rain for a long time. It is more suitable for sheltered corners of the courtyard, and needs to be wiped with a damp cloth regularly and ventilated to dry. PE imitation rattan has strong UV resistance, is not afraid of water immersion, is easy to clean, and is suitable for all-open-air environments. It has rich colors and can form a sharp match with the green plants in the courtyard.

Plastic materials focus on environmental protection and load-bearing. HDPE furniture has good impact resistance and is not easy to crack in low temperature environments. It is suitable for making children's amusement chairs and can be recycled, which is in line with the concept of environmental protection. Polypropylene is light and easy to move, with bright colors and affordable prices, but products with thicker walls need to be selected to avoid deformation due to long-term load-bearing.

In addition, the combination of materials can balance performance and cost. For example, a metal frame with a rattan seat can ensure a stable structure and improve sitting comfort; a solid wood tabletop combined with an aluminum alloy bracket takes into account both beauty and durability. When choosing, it is necessary to combine the local climate characteristics. Waterproof materials are given priority in rainy areas, and anti-ultraviolet performance is emphasized in strong sunshine areas to keep the patio furniture in good condition for a long time.
